Linux System Administration
Over 25 years of experience
I first started working with computers when the Texas Instruments TI-99 “Home computer” was introduced in the early 1980s. It would be the first, but not the last computer I would use and later dissect to learn all I could about it. I have had my hands on the full era of computers and their online services since the beginning of online services. I have built more computers and networks then I can put a number to. I have been self-employed most of my life in the field of electronics, or as you call it “computers” and I have the strong building, construction, and maintenance experience required to better evaluate your systems and the security of your data.
Today, the Internet is bigger than it ever has been before. There are now an estimated 50 Billion devices online and your ability to share information is more secure then has ever been possible before if you do the right things. We live in a time where we have Internet devices in our business, our offices, our homes, our cars, and our hands as a normal part of life and security is not just personal, or a matter of our national security, it’s the security of everyone in the world at steake.
…What you can do…
Maintaining your systems, changing default passwords, installing real firewalls, using a V3PN based VPN service, having your building, office and network reviewed, stop using WIFI without a V3PN, Archive your data offline, maintain long term backups, use intrusion detection software, hide your computer name when sending mail, lock down your computers to only the programs that are needed, training, training, training, using products and services that are made in the United States, and of course, secure business class webhosting, etc…
I am available to review your business, building, office, and network and provide you with opinions on how to secure your devices.
